Each of these services offers serious value—a handful even include products that are worth 4 times more than you’ll pay for a subscription. Check out the list below to find the best box for you:

How it works: For $10 a month, you’ll get a box of beauty products that are curated for your specific preferences (such as skin type and hair color). Each month, you’ll also receive one non-beauty “extra.”
Why it’s worth your money: Yes, the beauty products you’ll get in your monthly Birchbox are typically sample- or deluxe-sized; but the price is among the lowest of the various beauty subscription boxes, and signing up gives you access to the Birchbox rewards program. Earn points that you can redeem for free full-sized products by reviewing the samples in your monthly box or shopping in the Birchbox store.
2. GLOSSYBOX (sign up at glossybox.com)
How it works: For $21 a month, you’ll get a minimum of five deluxe- or full-sized luxury beauty products. You can also subscribe for 12 months at once, saving you $30 annually.
Why it’s worth your money: Glossybox features only prestige brands (meaning you won’t find them at the drugstore) and they never use vials or small packets, so you’re guaranteed to save big by signing up. For even more value, you’ll occasionally find a non-beauty mystery discount code in the box (recent months have included savings at Thursday and Friday and Caseable). Another bonus: Because the company has an office in Berlin, they make a point to introduce U.S. customers to up-and-coming European brands that are popular overseas.

How it works: For $10 a month, you’ll receive a makeup bag filled with four to five beauty products from both drugstore and higher-end brands. The company is founded by popular YouTube vlogger Michelle Phan, so you can rest assured that the products you’re sent are makeup artist-approved.
Why it’s worth your money: We love that each Ipsy Glam Bag includes a beautiful reusable makeup pouch (above, the new April 2015 Glam Bag). Products are typically deluxe- or full-sized, and previous boxes have been valued between $40 and $50, making that $10 a month well worth it.

How it works: FabFitFun is a quarterly subscription box curated by Giuliana Rancic that includes a mix of beauty products, fashion accessories, fitness tools and healthy snacks. You’ll receive four boxes a year (one each season) for $49.99 each including shipping.
Why it’s worth your money: While a bit pricier than some of the other beauty boxes, a FabFitFun subscription arguably gets you the most value: each box is worth upwards of $200, and the beauty products are typically full-sized. This box is also a good option for someone who is looking to receive both beauty and fashion products.

How it works: For $12 a month, select up to six beauty or wellness samples. You can also sign up for an annual subscription for $132 a year, earning you one month for free.
Why it’s worth your money: If you want some control over the items in your beauty box, this is the subscription for you. Because Beauty Army lets you narrow down samples by type, you can fill your box with items you actually need instead of collecting extras of products you already have. (After all, subscription boxes are great, but at some point you might have five tubes of mascara and still need blush.) The drawback: the products are truly sample-sized, so you might not be getting as much value as some of the other boxes offer.
6. BEAUTY BOX 5 (sign up at beautybox5.com)
How it works: For $12 a month, you’ll receive a combination of makeup, fragrance, nail polish, hair and skincare products. You can also sign up for a yearly membership for $99, saving you $45 annually.
Why it’s worth your money: Beauty Box 5 stands by every product included in their monthly box: “We share products that really work, so you’ll receive luxury, drugstore, niche, eco-conscious and even vegan brands,” the company writes on its website. Plus, each of the products included in the box are deluxe- or full-sized.
